Privacy policy

What getcounselatlas.com collects, why, and what we do with it.

Effective September 18, 2026 · Last updated September 18, 2026

1. Scope

This policy describes how CounselAtlas handles information in connection with the website at getcounselatlas.com. It applies to the site itself.

It does not apply to any vendor website you reach by following a link from this site. Those sites are governed by their own privacy policies.

2. What we collect

The site is a public directory. You can read every record without creating an account, and we do not ask you to register.

We collect only the following:

3. What we do not collect

We do not operate user accounts on this site. We do not collect payment information. We do not ask for and do not want your client information, your matter information, or any privileged or confidential material.

Please do not send confidential information through the submission form or by email. If you send it, we may delete it without reading it.

4. Cookies and analytics

The site does not set advertising cookies and does not run third-party advertising trackers.

Our hosting and content delivery provider may set strictly necessary technical cookies to serve the site and to protect it from abuse. We may use aggregate analytics that do not identify individual readers.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site's records remain readable if you do.

5. How we use information

We use the information described above to: review and act on submissions; operate, maintain, and secure the site; understand which records are useful so we can prioritise re-checking; and respond to messages you send us.

We do not use your information to make automated decisions about you, and we do not use it to train machine learning models.

6. Retention

Submission correspondence is kept for as long as it is useful for reviewing and maintaining the directory. Technical request logs are kept for a short operational period and then discarded.

You may ask us to delete a submission you sent and we will do so, unless we are required to retain it.

7. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for advertising.

We share information only with service providers who help us run the site, such as our hosting and content delivery provider, and only to the extent needed to provide that service. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

9. Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection. We take reasonable measures to protect the limited information we hold.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Because we deliberately collect very little, the information at risk is limited, but we cannot promise absolute security.

10. Children

This site is intended for legal professionals. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

11. Your choices and rights

You may contact us to ask what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to ask us to delete it. We will respond within a reasonable period.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, including rights of access, correction, deletion, and objection. We will honour those rights as the law requires.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the last-updated date at the top of this page.

13. Contact

Privacy questions and requests can be sent to [email protected].
